PHONAGRAPHY: THE NEW GENRE OF CONTEMPORARY PHOTOGRAPHY.
There are 7 billion people on the planet and 5 billion smart phones users/Phonagraphers. Phonagraphy.com aims to corral the world- wide collective of smart phone users into a cohesive force that will be the progenitors of a revolutionary type of book arts. The diversity of humanity aligned, as Phonagraphers will capture photos from their particular walk of life and upload them to the Exhibit Page. Once projects are finalized the best images will be voted on by members, the final 40 images will be compiled into eBooks and Coffee table art books for sale through Phonagraphy.com via Amazon.com, iTunes, etc. Royalties from eBooks sold are shared by winning members.

Phonagraphy is a platform designed to give the new genre of contemporary photography a home. Phonagraphy.com enables members to:
Set up a personal profile where they can showcase their work
Network by participating in Groups, Projects, Event sharing
Learn from pertinent tutorials and blogs. Submit to Phonagraphy’s eBook Publishing Contest!
What the contest is:
Members upload their phonograph’s to the Image Bank, when the monthly publishing contest deadline is reached 200 entries will be selected via Members Vote. The final 40 images chosen per category will be picked by the Director of Phonagraphy to be published into cutting edge collaborative eBooks that will be sold via iTunes, Amazon, etc. Revenues from eBook sales translate into royalties paid to each winning artist. Contest winners share 45% of the profits/royalties, 45% will go to supporting Phonagraphy.com and the remaining 10% will be allotted to Phonagraphy’s non-for profit Art Fund. Grid themes will be changed on a monthly basis keeping eBook publishing contests dynamic.
Grid Categories for upload are:
People, Landscapes, Panoramas, Architecture.
Each new monthly contest will be a new sub-category of the main theme:
PEOPLE sub- Family Matters, LANDSCAPES: sub-with trees- PANORAMAS: sub-architecture, Social Ecological sub-the homeless, FANTASY AND ABSTRACT: sub-light and shadow etc.
Aside from the focus on artistic endeavors, Phonagraphy.com will target universal themes such as the plight of the homeless, ecological issues concerning global warming, deforestation, social unrest, etc. with an artistic slant through the theme-based Exhibit Page. Members act as a collective, connecting with a common purpose to effect positive change on the planet. Their shared ideology becomes contagious thanks to the power of the Internet. Phonagraphy leverages this power, affording members the ability to stream images and ideology instantaneously over the net.
